Fossil Makes What?
It might seem odd that I would write about Fossil brand because we instantly think of vintage tins and leather wallets. However, this is why you should hear the Fossil story. There is so much more to them than these wonderful tins.
Fossil has an amazing history that is backed by years of innovation and manufacturing. Their reputation feels hidden by a brand that seems so basic, but is far from it.
Michelle watches are one of the most sought after women's watches and one of the first to have diamonds in or around the face.
Yes, that's right made by Fossil. The majority of people do not believe me when I tell them about the watch manufacturingFossil is responsible for. I promise I am not making it up! I'm happy to share the Fossil story with you. I'll also provide brands, trends, and resources if you are looking for a holiday gift.
Fossil Group, Inc. is an American designer and manufacturer of watches, jewelry, and many other accessories. Their brands include Fossil, Relic, Abacus, Michele, Watch & Now Coach NY, Skagen, and Zodiac Watches.
Fossil also makes watches for brands such as Adidas, Emporio Armani, Karl Lagerfeld, Michael Kors, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Burberry, DKNY, Diesel and Armani Exchange. This simply means that they use their factory and resources to produce their watches. Fossil does not own the designs but produces watches for these designers.
The Fossil Story
The company is named after a nickname two brothers gave their father.
Fossil was founded in 1984 as Overseas Products International by Tom Kartsotis and his older brother Kosta. Kosta told his brother Tom about the potential large profits that could be made on retail goods made in the Far Eastimporting moderately priced fashion watches.Their main product was fashion watches with a retro flair.
In 1990, they introduced leather goods under the Fossil brand, and line of watches they would name Relic.
Zodiac was a Swiss brand that had been operating since 1882 when Fossil acquired it from Genender International in 2001 for a large sum of monies. Fossil's desire to establish a Swiss presence led to the purchase of the Zodiac Watch brand and a complete retooling of that line to reflect a retro modern 1970s style in a higher end watch.
The 2004 purchase of Michele Watch completed the cycle by offering a high-end Swiss watch with a designer touch. This is the brand I was referring to earlier. Michele was one of the first brand of watches to put real diamonds around their watch face. Michelle watches are extremely popular and many women can't get enough.
Fossil has manufacturing facilities in China and Switzerland and distribution centers in Dallas, Germany, and Asia.
Are you shopping for a watch this holiday season? Here are a few of my favorites this year made by Fossil brand.

I realize that you still might be in awe after learning that Fossil is such a power house. I gained a whole new respect for the brand and their watches. Not knowing it, I purchased a Karl Lagerfeld even though I never set my watch and wear for looks! Ha! How could you not buy this for cool points?
Go for a name that is built to last, a reputation in the industry, and a knitch for designing watches. Fossil has something to offer everyone. I am normally into fashion, not function and purchase items for the style. Dare I say you can have both wrapped into one little tick tocking armband? Whether you like to keep the time, decorate your wrist, Fossil might be right on time for you!
