My Jolie Paint Style Transformation

My Jolie Paint Style Transformation

Our lengthy home search paid off after we found “the one” in 2020, which is absolutely perfect for our family. We have a lot of painting to do, nearly the whole house but everything else is perfect. It’s been a challenge, we had thirteen permanent wall speakers to remove before we could begin. I was never great at painting because I’d find myself rushing too quickly and have very little experience. So this project was a test to myself but I also love creating my own style. There’s nothing like getting to work in a place you feel inspired, comfortable, and ready to take on the world. In my exploration of painting projects I taught myself how to refinish a custom built-in desk and shelving unit in my office. It wasn’t my color choice and had so much potential. I began dreaming up the design and decided to make it happen. I am excited to share ‘My Jolie Paint Style Transformation’ Story with you.

Check out the before photos.

The previous owners left the red bulletin board that was SO hard to remove but it felt so good to see it come down!

The day I decided I REALLY needed to make this space my “she cave”, desperately needed a make-over.

The “bones” are great, equipped with a double desk for sewing. The Plaid curtains definitely needed to go and wait until you see the new ones I found!

I researched non-toxic , sanding, and wood finishing paints. I ended up using Jolie Paints and first ordered their sample book so I could see all of the colors in person before deciding. Jolie claimed that you did not need to sand but I opted to anyways. I had a lot of old stains snd markings that came right up with this sander , which also had a compartment to collect the sawdust. It was easy to use for a first timer like myself.

After many hours of multiple coats, I ended up doing two with the Jolie wood cabinet finishing Varnish. I am very happy with how it all came together.

After the transformation, I love the combination of navy and purple.

I had this vision of floating shelves under my artwork that I could add a small decorative accent. Everything that was selected had meaning, took time, lots of research, and dedication to make sure it had all of my style elements. My goal was to make sure that everything was a true reflection of my style and I am very happy with the outcome.

Every detail mattered to me, the Amethyst agate artwork, my favorite color purple, and the antique perfume bottles.

I learned to sew on a Singer machine twenty five years ago and I’ve always wanted one. I was gifted a Singer when we moved into our new home and was ecstatic that I had room for it. Side note, the glass protective layer was very tricky. I had to pry it and lift it to paint underneath. There was a lot of residue from the previous owners and the sander worked great to remove those imperfections.

I loved how these pictures looked staged before I was able to hang up.

I made the flower arrangement by going into Hobby Lobby and mix-matching various silk flower styles together. I am a big fan of Fringe Studio and purchased the vase from their online store.

The corner opening which feels so nice walking into like “I’m home”

My style therapy inspiration wall with a picture of our Redbone Coonhound that is now an angel

Coco quotes and a very special dress that was made for the baby shower of our first born. I had a custom-made canvas created as a forever keepsake.

This has become my stylish oasis that I enjoy tremendously and is my space. My little girls love coming in and helping with crafts or playing on my purple chair. If I’ve learned anything you can give your space meaningful memories and style if you put your heart into it. Find your style and write your own story!
